~Magnolia~

I recall the time when I planted this magnolia tree for my son Jared, on his tenth birthday. Hoping that it could endure the cold winters of Northern NY. Well, it now towers 12 feet high and each spring it brings forth it's beauty,fragrance and elegant flowers...
Jared, you have shown endurance and focus. Your persistence aided you in achieving the goals you set. You have shown strength and excellence. You have managed challenges and conquered the giants before you. You did all of this with humbleness and integrity. Within the roots of this tree lies its strength, its truck holds the branches that bares its fruit.
~You have made us all so proud and we Love you so much~

As I was admiring the garden,I noticed something moving.
To my surprise were two new cuties blending in so well.
I am watching them very carefully,because Mama keeps staking out the apartment where the bluebirds are living. There are three eggs and Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird are very doting and guarded. The squirrel's are investigating too and are getting dive bombed from the parents to be. The mourning doves are scouts for them, a pair of doves sit atop the tree and when the squirrel's come near they alert the father and he dive bombs them. Very entertaining and exciting.

It was quite a busy day for the ladies. The weather was pleasant and refreshing, the scent from Jennifers soaps inhanced the air. Many antiques and pretties lined the walkway,and people came from miles around to see the talented ladies and their wares.

~Monet or Van Gogh?~
Oil continues to spill in the Gulf, millions of gallons a day. Hundreds of sea creatures lay dead on the coastline from Texas to Mississippi, and there is no end in sight for their safety.
Creatures that are endangered,being wiped out minute by minute as they surface,inhaling and swallowing toxic oil. Their habitat is being destroyed and the effects are critical. The coastline is in jeopardy. Not because of human error,but because of ignorance and the "greed for green".
We need to "GO BLUE", we are the blue planet.
Is this what we do with a Gift?
Earth was created for us. Purposely formed and fashioned.
We can make a difference in peace. We can fight without being violent. We can have a say without casting judgement. We need to stand in for those that cry out to us. The creatures of the earth and the children of its future.

~RENTED~
I am so excited. For the past 2 weeks I have been observing a pair of eastern bluebirds in my garden.
They have been scoping out the available houses and have picked the one bedroom.
The expecting parents have been moving in.
Dad-to-be, sits atop their home, as mom-to-be prepares a comfy and cozy nest for the babes.
What a wonderful sight to see.
There still are bluebirds, and rainbows.
And dreams really do come true.
So, keep on trusting and believing. And don't forget to observe and feed the birds while you're at it.

~TITANIC~ The Artifact Exhibition At Discovery Times Square Exposition
226 West 44th Street, New York City.
I journeyed back in time to 1912 and experienced Titanic's Maiden Voyage. I ventured through the reconstruction of the ship's interior. Viewing 1st class, passing through the cabins of the 2nd class, the bunks in 3rd class and boiler room. Gazing upon the personal items of people long ago.
Most magnificent,The Grand Staircase.
After nearly a century...Titanic arrived in New York. This post is dedicated to all those who put their talents into the craftsmanship of this beautiful vessel, to those who's lives were lost and to you who's hearts go on.
This is a must see. Exhibition ends in Feb 2010

~As I was creating these roses today, adding each pedal and then forming them, rolling the edges and painting them with watercolor. This poem came to my mind. I stand amazed at how it only took God, six days to create all the marvelous wonders for us.

"Once in a blue moon"
I, as many have often said that phrase. The last blue moon was in May 2007. There have been poems written and scientist have studied this phenomenon. Molecules of air are much smaller than the wave length of visible light. Blue light has a shorter wave length than red. Blue light scatters more than red. The effect Rayleigh scattering. This is responsible for what is called Tyndall blue. Another one of the fascinating wonders of our planet.

~Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse,the stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.The children were nestled all snug in there beds while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads~
This lyrical Christmas Eve call on good boys and girl was first published in the Troy Sentinel on December 23,1823, one year after Clement Clarke Moore had read his joyful poem aloud to family and friends in New York City. May the imagination and joyous spirit you felt once upon a time fill your heart this day~

**The Blizzard of 2009**

And what a blizzard it was! It truely is looking a lot like Christmas now. Measurement 20". I myself am a Long Islander, but lived up state NY for a number of years. The accumulation of snow up there, is soooo much more. I had a good chuckle when the broadcasters were getting so spun up about this storm coming in. The national gaurd was in preparation for this, the plows and sanders were all in place. It realy made me giggle . Its only snow.**
If you realy don't have anywhere to go....stay home. If you have to drive...go slow. My suggestion, stay home and have a bowl of chili and hot cocoa. And cozy up!

~Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree~ I wanted to share this amazing tree with you. It is on display at the Port Jefferson Village Center at Harborfront Park. Members of the Paper Folders Association, have acquired these ornaments from the Museum Of Natural History. The decorating of this tree has been a work in progress since the early 90's. Every year since, a new ornament is added. Each ornament is created by members of the Origami Guild. The theme of course, marine life. From all the mermaids and artists we appreciate this creation. ~Creating Mode~I have been inspired to create again, and trust that this message will encourage you also. I have had a set back with my health, but find that small works of creativity help the spirit and body heal. There is " hope" in times when disappointments make us feel dismal and the burdens of tomorrow bring dismay. May we be diligent in the responsibilities given to us, but may we also be set free to put into existence the talent we wish to share. Focus on the needs and "dreams" of you, apply the energy within you, for you. No matter what life throws at you, you will be cheerful. Keep in mind the value of "you".
